It's been awhile from the last post
this is something i did last week
it might sounds bit geek, but whatever, here goes nothing........
D.I.Y : Servicing LaptopYes, i love to do things my own
and i enjoy the process of dismantling
and joining back the pieces together
when i was small, i use to dismantle all sorts of thing
such as clock, radio, watches , fan whatever i can reach
I was fascinated by how the inside mechanics/part looks like
Be it working or spoiled, I will tear them apart
most of the time i manage to pieces them back in working condition or fix it
but sadly there are still some failed attempts
-Acer service it at another end of Singapore
-Queuing there might take hours !!!
-Exp transportation fares
-Busy schedule
Might as well do it myself ?Notes 101: (Do and dun's)-remove all electricity, battery & any thing that powers your laptop (basic)
-check your tool boxes for all the sizes of screws you'll need before u ever start
you need a +plus sign screw with flat head (whatever its called)
-discharge your static electricity by touching on a metal surface
-Do this only if you are very confident if you can pieces them back together
-by dismantling them yourself, you most probably broke the warranty agreement
because you will tear the warranty stickers on the cover
-remove the screw carefully and place them in a safe location, dun lose not even 1!
-try to remember which screw goes into which, if not take picture/video, whatever
that helps
-avoid hazardous item, water , sweat , saliva ,coke & roof with holes o.O
Removing the main cover ( inside: CPU, graphic card, cooling vent etc........)
a bit of force is necessary, careful !
Removing the hard disk cover
not necessary, mistake here.........
Here's inside a laptop view
Previously i upgraded a 512mb ram, so my lappy now has 1.5gb of ram ^^
The chip and graphic card shares the same pipe, vent and fan, that's why your
laptop won't match your desktop of the same specs. Because they have more
power and dedicated heat dispensing vent.
Today we're gonna clean up the vent and fan
Dirty fan would draw much lesser, so that's why laptop
tends to heat up much faster over time.
Keeping it clean can help to prolong life span of your machine.....
tissue paper is good enough to finish the job......
use some liquid if necessary, but be very careful
get a vacuum and vac the vent (on the chassis)
wipe/vac any dust u see on the machine (care the screws, lose 1 and you're screwed)
that's pretty much of it
need my service? (Pm me xD $-$ )
I'm broke, whatever...........and Thx for tuning in!
